This robot lawn mower might be a little pricey but it will sure make up for its cost. It will mow your lawn to perfection and will significantly minimize your household chores, which makes it an excellent garden tool.
Robomow R2630 is a one-of-a-kind robotic lawn mower with so many features and options that you will never want to use a standard mowing machine again. It can handle gardens up to ¾ acres in size without showing the slightest problem and without signs of low battery. Another great plus of this robot is the 74 dB operating noise level that is lower than in other models. The price tag might seem high for a unit this small but it is justified by the great performance.
This is a battery powered unit that uses a heavy duty 400W motor and twin edged tri-blades that manage to cut the grass perfectly anytime, no matter how big it is. The blades are snap-on so changing them is very easy and shouldn’t be a problem. The battery takes around 2 hours to recharge and it can last around 70 minutes, enough to have all your lawn looking great.
The cutting width of this unit is 22 inches and, as in most robotic mowing machines, the cutting height is adjustable to adapt to your personal needs and you can set it from 0.78 to 3.14 inches. The floating deck allows the machine to go over bumps without cutting the grass unevenly and it can handle slopes and inclined areas of up to 20% inclines. It can navigate through up to 4 different garden areas due to the multizone capability that lets it go from one garden side to another. You won’t have to worry about small and narrow areas in your garden because this unit can easily handle places like under the fence or house corners.
You can always customize the path and schedule of the unit with a simple setup that can be immediately performed. Thanks to the Robomow app, you can use your smartphone or tablet to set and operate the robot from anywhere in your house through a Bluetooth connection.
The machine charges at the Base Station and remains there between operations so it will always be charged and ready for a new mowing session. In case it senses rain, the robot returns to the station but you can always choose to let it work even when its sensors detect rain conditions.
Among the features that are missing, we mention the alarm that notifies you in case the machine has left its perimeter, which means that you will have to keep your eyes on it. It doesn’t have a pin number either that would let you program it and prevent others from using it.
This isn’t the smallest robot you can find but, unless you are looking for the smallest, in particular, you won’t have problems operating it. The unit measures 12 inches x 29 inches x 26 inches and weighs 44 pounds so it is an average size unit that should be easy to handle and store. It is made of plastic so it’s fully weatherproof and should have no troubles cutting through wet grass.
Using this robotic mowing machine is as easy as it can be. All you need to do is peg the 450 pegs that come in the box and surround the lawn with the 1200-ft perimeter wire that connects to the charging station and let the unit do its magic. Although there isn’t a remote control available, you will find the smartphone app very easy to use.
The blades on this unit stop as soon as they detect any obstacles or when it is lifted from the ground or flipped over so there will be no risk of getting hurt in the rotating blades. In case it detects and obstacle, the unit stops and changes direction to prevent bumping into things. The unit doesn’t come with replacement blades but you can purchase them separately when needed and change them in a blast. Although it is so easy to use that even a child could do it, you can keep your children from operating the unit with the Child Lock feature.
Warranty and support
The warranty you receive with a product, especially one as expensive as this product is very important in deciding how trustworthy the unit is. This is why you might be disappointed by the 1-year warranty available for the product, although this is the standard warranty found in most robotic mowing machines. However, the manufacturer offers a reliable customer support available via phone and email that you can find on their official website. Plus, you can find all sorts of details and useful information that can help you get the hang of your robotic mowing machine.
